Corvair LED Tail Lamps
In this video demonstration, Sean from Auto Anatomy demonstrates how he created adapters to discreetly install LEDs into his existing tail lamp assemblies. The video provides instruction on how you can replicate the process on your Corvair.
The adapters are available from Sean at a very reasonable price. They are precision-made adapters with fastening hardware included.
Additional components are required:

Corvair Today installed Sean’s adapters according to this video, and the results are remarkable.
However, Corvair Today kept the same factory function on our reverse lights. The LED boards in the reverse light assemblies are only wired for the white LED operation. If you decide to go that route, you will also need the following part:
One cautionary note is to take your time during the removal process. Avoid rushing the removal of the Partsam LED circuit boards from their sealed plastic enclosures, as this may result in damaged LEDs that will not function properly.
Subsequently, you will need to replace the factory turn signal flasher with an LED flasher unit. Otherwise, your turn signals will flash at an abnormally rapid frequency.
Employing Auto Anatomy’s 3-way connector, Corvair Today incorporated an adjustable flasher relay that features a rotary knob for adjusting the turn signal flash speed. This relay enables users to customize the flash frequency between 55 and 95 flashes per minute.
TIP:
While wiring the connector for the flasher relay, it is imperative to adhere to the wiring guidelines provided with the relay you acquire. On late-model Corvairs, the input (ACC power) is designated by the brown wire, while the output (connecting to the turn signal switch) is represented by the purple wire.
These modifications are highly worthwhile for the enhanced safety it provides you in your Corvair. Corvairs are lower than most other vehicles on the road, making their tail lights positioned at a lower level than most drivers are accustomed to seeing. Combined with the older, dimmer incandecent bulbs, this combination increases the risk of being overlooked when you are attempting to alert those behind you of your driving intentions.
