Product: Front 3-Point Seat Belts
If your Corvair was manufactured prior to January 1968, it is unlikely to have been equipped with front shoulder belts. However, starting from January 1968, front seat shoulder belts in the Corvair became standard equipment.
Initially, GM’s shoulder restraint system for its vehicles was somewhat inconvenient to operate. The lap belt and shoulder belt were separate belts that required separate buckling. This meant that once fully buckled in, the driver’s forward movement was restricted, often making it challenging for Corvair owners to release the handbrake.
Morris Classic Concepts, LLC’s 3-point, front seat belt restraint system is specifically designed for the Corvair. It simplifies the process of buckling both the lap and shoulder belts in a single motion. Additionally, the belts are available in a variety of colors.
This product is compatible with Corvairs manufactured between February 1966 and May 1969. Owners of Corvairs produced before February 1966 will need to make structural modifications to properly anchor the restraint system.
